Booking Policy for School Owners and Instructors

Registration and Access: School owners and instructors must register with DriveEasy by providing accurate business details, certifications, and identification as required. Access to the platform for managing bookings is granted upon successful verification and acceptance of these terms.

Slot Management: School owners and instructors are responsible for listing available teaching slots on the platform, ensuring accuracy and real-time updates. Slots must be allocated based on availability and withdrawn promptly if no longer accessible.

Booking Acceptance: Upon a customer’s booking, school owners and instructors are obligated to accept and fulfill the scheduled session unless prevented by force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions). Acceptance constitutes a binding commitment to deliver the agreed-upon driving lesson.

Payment Handling: School owners and instructors agree that DriveEasy facilitates payment collection from customers. Payments will be processed and disbursed to the school owner or instructor’s designated account within 7-10 business days after first session completion, subject to a platform service fee as outlined in the service agreement.

Cancellation Responsibility: School owners and instructors must notify DriveEasy of cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., instructor illness, vehicle unavailability) at least 24 hours in advance or as soon as practicable. Failure to provide timely notice may result in penalties, including forfeiture of the session fee.

Session Management: School owners and instructors are required to initiate each session by clicking “Start Session” on the customer’s card in the “Daily Sessions” section of the app before picking up the student. This enables live location tracking for the student. The instructor must then enter the OTP provided by the student for validation. Only after validation can the session proceed. The session must be concluded by clicking “End Session” upon dropping off the student. Within the same day, school owners or instructors must provide compulsory feedback via the “Add Feedback” section to finalize the session as completed.

Liability and Indemnity: School owners and instructors assume full responsibility for the delivery of driving lessons, including adherence to local traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and student safety. DriveEasy shall not be liable for any claims, damages, injuries, or legal actions arising from the conduct of lessons or interactions with customers. School owners and instructors agree to indemnify and hold DriveEasy harmless from any such liabilities.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes between school owners, instructors, and customers shall be resolved directly between the parties involved. DriveEasy may mediate at its discretion but is not obligated to resolve such disputes. Unresolved matters may be escalated to local arbitration or legal authorities as per applicable jurisdiction.

Termination of Access: DriveEasy reserves the right to suspend or terminate a school owner’s or instructor’s access to the platform for breaches of this policy, including but not limited to fraudulent activity, consistent non-performance, or failure to comply with local regulations.

Policy Amendments: DriveEasy may update this policy with reasonable notice provided via the platform or email. Continued use of the platform after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy for Students

Student-Initiated Cancellation

Pre-Course Cancellation: Students may cancel a booking up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time on start date of the course without incurring any cancellation fee.

Within 48 Hours Pre-Course: Cancellations made within 48 hours before the course start time, provided the course has not yet commenced, will incur a fixed cancellation fee of INR 75.

Post-Course Commencement: If a student cancels after the course has started, refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, deducting 10% of the total course fee for each day of attendance. For example, cancellation on the first day results in a 10% deduction, the second day a 20% deduction, and so forth. No refund will be provided for cancellations made on or after the 10th day of the course.

Process: Cancellation requests must be submitted via the app’s “Manage Booking” section. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days, subject to bank processing times.

School-Initiated Cancellation

Pre-Course Cancellation: If a driving school or instructor cancels a booking before the course start date, DriveEasy will notify the student and offer the option to reselect an available slot with an alternative instructor or school. If no suitable alternative is available or accepted, a full refund will be issued to the student’s original payment method within 7-10 business days.

Post-Course Commencement: If a cancellation occurs after the course has started, students will be offered a rescheduling option with an alternative instructor or school within 7 days. If rescheduling is not feasible, a prorated refund will be issued based on completed sessions, processed within 7-10 business days.

Notification: Schools and instructors must inform DriveEasy of cancellations as soon as practicable, with DriveEasy relaying the information to students via app notification or SMS.

Instructor or Vehicle Change

Request: If a school or instructor intends to change the assigned instructor or vehicle without cancelling the session, they must contact DriveEasy’s support team at least 48 hours prior to the session, providing a valid reason (e.g., instructor unavailability, vehicle maintenance).

DriveEasy Action: DriveEasy may, at its discretion, assign a new instructor or vehicle to the student. Alternatively, DriveEasy will contact the student to confirm their preference for a new instructor/vehicle or offer a cancellation option without any fee.

Student Preference: Students must respond to DriveEasy’s communication within 24 hours; failure to do so may result in DriveEasy assigning a new instructor or vehicle at its discretion.

Cancellation Policy for School Owners and Instructors

School/Instructor-Initiated Cancellation

Pre-Course Cancellation: School owners and instructors may cancel a booking before the course start date only with prior notification to DriveEasy’s support team at least 48 hours in advance. A cancellation fee of INR 75 will be deducted from the course payment due to the school or instructor.

Post-Course Commencement: Cancellations after the course has started will incur a penalty calculated as 10% of the session fee (after DriveEasy’s commission) for each day of the course, deducted from payments owed. For example, cancellation on the first day results in a 10% penalty, the second day a 20% penalty, and so forth. On or after the 10th day, the school or instructor must refund DriveEasy the full amount previously paid for the course, plus an additional 100% of that amount as liquidated damages.

Notification Requirement: Instructors unable to attend must immediately inform their school owner, who must then notify DriveEasy’s support team at least 48 hours prior to the session. Failure to comply may result in escalated penalties or suspension from the platform.

Process: Cancellations must be reported via the platform’s support channel. Penalties or refunds will be adjusted in the next payment cycle, processed within 7-10 business days.

Instructor or Vehicle Change

Request: If a school owner or instructor needs to change the assigned instructor or vehicle without cancelling, they must contact DriveEasy’s support team at least 24 hours prior to the session, providing a substantiated reason.

DriveEasy Action: DriveEasy may assign a new instructor or vehicle at its discretion. Alternatively, DriveEasy will seek the student’s preference for a new instructor/vehicle or offer a cancellation option without fee, contacting the student promptly.

Compliance: Failure to notify DriveEasy within the stipulated timeframe may result in penalties equivalent to a cancellation fee, applied to the school owner or instructor’s account.

Rescheduling & Pause Policy

Rescheduling Policy for Students

Student-Initiated Rescheduling

Eligibility: Students may reschedule a time slot for any specific day via the “Manage Booking” section of the app, provided the request is submitted at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled session start time. Rescheduling requests submitted within 1 hour of the session start time will not be permitted.

Limit: Students are entitled to a maximum of five (5) rescheduling opportunities per booking without additional cost. Any subsequent rescheduling requests will incur a fee as determined by DriveEasy, to be notified via the app at the time of request.

Availability: Rescheduling is subject to the availability of the originally assigned instructor and the vehicle. DriveEasy will confirm availability prior to finalizing the rescheduling request.

Process: Rescheduling must be completed through the app’s “Manage Booking” section. Upon approval, the updated time slot will be reflected in the student’s booking details.

School Owner and Instructor Responsibilities

Notification: Upon a student’s rescheduling, school owners and instructors will receive an updated notification via the app, detailing the rescheduled time slot for the specified date. This information will be displayed on the customer’s card within the “Daily Sessions” section of the app.

Compliance: Instructors are obligated to adhere to the rescheduled time slot for the specified date, ensuring they arrive to pick up the student at the updated time. Failure to comply may result in penalties as outlined in the Cancellation Policy.

Pause Policy for Students

Student-Initiated Pause

Eligibility: Students may pause a booking via the “Manage Booking” section of the app, specifying the start and end dates for the pause period. The pause will suspend the student’s sessions for the selected number of days, which will be deducted from the total number of sessions allocated for the course.

Notification: DriveEasy will notify the associated school owner and instructor via the app, indicating the paused session period. During this period, the school owner and instructor shall not initiate or conduct sessions with the student.

Course Completion: Each course is allotted a total number of days to complete the required sessions (typically 45 days, dynamic per course), within which the student must complete the total number of sessions (typically 26 sessions, dynamic per course). If, due to pauses, the student fails to complete the required sessions within the allotted days, it shall be the student’s sole responsibility to arrange and fund any additional sessions beyond the allotted period. Neither DriveEasy nor the school owner/instructor shall be liable for such delays or additional costs.

Process: Pause requests must be submitted through the app, with the paused days reflected in the student’s booking status. Resumption of sessions will automatically occur after the pause end date.

School Owner and Instructor Responsibilities

Compliance: School owners and instructors are prohibited from conducting sessions with a student during the paused period as notified via the app’s “Daily Sessions” section. Any attempt to initiate sessions during this time may result in penalties or suspension from the platform.

Notification Acknowledgment: School owners and instructors must acknowledge the pause notification and adjust their schedules accordingly, ensuring no charges or expectations are imposed on the student during the pause period.

General Terms

Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or interruptions due to events beyond their control (e.g., natural disasters, government mandates), provided prompt notification is given.

Disputes: Disputes arising from cancellations, rescheduling, or pausing shall be resolved directly between the student and DriveEasy, with school owners/instructors involved only as necessary. Unresolved issues may be subject to local arbitration.

Policy Amendments: DriveEasy reserves the right to modify this policy with reasonable notice via the app, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
